Monday Meh, Front Page Edition

My own Monday is going much better than that of a recently unemployed police officer here in Bubbaville, who made front page news in last week's edition of The Tomahawk. You have to read it to believe it, folks:

Officer Loses Job After Firing at Squirrel in Store

Yes this was really front-page news:

  1. At this time, I won't even mention the excruciating syntax of the reporting perpetrator, regarding the incident.

However, I am looking forward to the update.

    1. Yes, I enjoyed the reporting as much as the incident itself. It almost reads like an April 1 news story, doesn't it?

Needless to say, my distrust of Bubbaville's Finest seems validated after reading this.

  2. Considering the target and the location, perhaps a slingshot would have been more appropriate.

    1. You're absolutely right, Doug. I think most boys around here learn now to catch squirrels shortly after they begin to walk.

  3. Being distracted by a squirrel is the excuse I use when I lose focus. This usually happens....oops! There goes one.

  4. Here in SoCal they would have shot some customers and employees. That's the tactic when after a perp---they hear the trouble maker is human so they shoot people who appear to be human. Mostly in the LA area. Don't be so sure your cops are any dumber than ours.

    1. I have a friend who proposes a mental health assessment for aspiring presidential candidates -- and I think the same assessment could be offered to those who want to be cops. The test consists of one question, "Do you want this job?" If the answer is yes, you're not sane enough.
