And then this happened

Just when I needed it most, great-niece Maddy had her 4th birthday bash. There is nothing like a bunch of 4- and 5-year old girls hyped up on sugar and My Little Pony to bring one out of an existential funk. These small people took the work of having fun so very seriously, too. There is a lesson there, and a reminder that we old fogies need to do all we can to make the world a better place for the generations that follow.

And enough with the goddamn standardized testing already.

  1. Oh yeah. As my youngest daughter enters middle school and my oldest daughter becomes a college freshman this month, I realize that I very much miss the My Little Pony phase of their lives.

  3. My grandson and i share a birthday, 28th will be his 1st and my 61st. I fully intend to eat his cake for him but I will let him have my ice cream in return.

Jesus unscrewing up the world our generation mainly screwed up is a tall order. There is still trillions of middle class wealth they have not yet robbed us of. They unfortunately are by generation our peers.
