Wienerdog Wednesday

Marilyn Monroe in Paris, 1959 (Paris Match)
Like Marilyn here, I've had my hands full lately. I'm just back from 5 days in St. Paul, MN, where the women are strong and, thankfully, so is the coffee. There's not much worse than conferences where I have to endure 12 hour days fueled by brownish hot water posing as coffee.

I got out of St. Paul Sunday, just before Astro blew into town. Now I'm back in Bubbaville, taking the day off to unpack and, assuming the morning cloud cover will eventually pass, take a long stroll in the warm sun before the Polar Whatever-it-is moves down to Dixie.

I think my next trip needs to be solely for pleasure, and somwhere warm. I wonder if I have enough hotel points to score a stay in N'Orleans  . . . .

  1. New Orleans: good choice. The coffee and chicory is strong and the Cajun food great. Just make sure the seafood you eat is shipped in from Maryland.

  2. Well hell, you were practically in Nebraska...minus a couple of states.

You may want to reconsider "Nawlns", as it can get pretty chilly down there this time of the year. Key West maybe? In either case, take a read at this informative article by a native son of "Nawlns".

    1. JJ, "chilly" is relative. It's been in the 20s these past few mornings here, so waking up to anything above freezing sounds good.

Also, Key West happens to be on my list of potential sites, even if it is technically still part of Florida.

I agree with your disparaging warm brown water posing as coffee... lots of that going around.
