From the looks of things, I'm not the only blogger who's been distracted or otherwise engaged these past few months. It doesn't make me feel any less guilty(ish) for abandoning this project, though. Sure, I journal regularly in my private space, but those passages are mostly the rantings of a discontent, middle-aged woman who sees her life being molded into some unrecognizable form by forces mostly beyond her control. That's not intelliwench!
I can do better. Meanwhile, it's a(nother) rainy Monday. Meh.
(Photo by me on a recent rainy Sunday as I departed a conference in Portland, OR)
It is good to see you're still there, however.
ReplyDeleteI started my blog over ten years ago. My burn out with it started about this time last year. I'm not even sure why. The sign was, starting a post, but not finishing, which lead to...not even starting. Who knows what ideas, words and sentences are festering and waiting for the day I get off my arse and actually complete a post. Could happen. I'm hoping it will happen with you as well.
BTW, must have been an uber pea-souper that day in Portland...your image is nowhere to be found.
I would have my eyes checked if I were you, JJ -- I can see the pic just fine, logged in or not, on several different devices. You okay there?
DeleteOh, and I think you have kinfolk here in Bubbaville -- a fellow named Dan with your same surname works in the local Food Lion. Chatty guy who always wants to foist his recipies on me at checkout....
Oops...I just realized that I misread, "Photo by me..." as "Photo OF me...". I do that a lot. Sometimes it's actually amusing.
DeleteSorry, I don't know the fellow. I do have some kin in southern Ohio (which qualifies as "Bubbaville" IMO), but I'm not really tuned into them.
BTW, Portland has the dubious honor of being where my ex lives...for whatever that's worth.
Hi, good to find a new post. I recently got completely soaked (in The City of Roses) as I walked back home from Safeway. Because I was carrying four bags of groceries, there was no way to keep myself dry under the protection of an umbrella. It felt like I had been dunked in the Pacific Ocean :-)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Nice photo :-)
I should've tried to meet you for a cup of coffee while I was there -- but the conference schedule was not very amenable to breaking out of the hotel....I did manage a Sunday afternoon saunter around downtown, though, and gained a deeper appreciation for quality rainwear.
DeletePerhaps this winter can be a time for soup and blogging.
ReplyDeletethe Ol'Buzzard
I'll blog my soup recipes, if nothing else!
DeleteYou know, I sometimes feel like I have said it all before and am just repeating myself, because the same absurd problems continue to exist with only the names changing. I then go without posting for weeks.
ReplyDeletethe Ol'Buzzard
That's why I like to post the occasional fiction piece -- wherein I can write about problems of my own creation!
