monday meh, fall back edition

Young Man Asleep, by Eugène Berman.
Not content with merely one extra hour of sleep on Sunday, I feel the need to sleep for, oh, about a month.

  1. When I win the lottery, the first thing I'm going to do is go somewhere quiet and sleep for a week.

  3. This is a painting from the new romantic period of the early 20th century, you can tell because if you look close enough you understand that he is sleeping nude and ready for his morning wake up.

Other than that meh *shrug* I like the style mainly because it rejects complexity of thought and focuses on Berman's intent. To simply tell a small story without much complication, the construction of the portrait being the goal not any underlying message.

  4. I read twm's comment and scrolled back up to the painting to look for a hard on.

I'm going to pretend that's a good thing.
